Hello everyone,
You will be pleased to hear that approval has already been granted to purchase several million dollars of new equipment. In fact, new equipment purchased in 2010/11 will exceed over 40% of current Indonesia fleet value. This new fleet is combination of equipment to meet expanding / new projects and as replacements for older fleet that no longer meets our demanding levels of quality and reliability.
As part of our growth plan, Human Resources, Equipment, Infrastructure and the Company Business model are in the process of being upgraded and expanded. You will have seen evidence of this with the recently completed upgrades to the PT Allight Workshop.
Currently senior management is in final negotiations for a new state of the art Administration Center and Coates workshop in Balikpapan. It planned these new facilities be completed by Jan 2011.
We can all look forward to a very busy and interesting year ahead. It is my intention to challenge all of us to achieve new heights of professionalism and safety as we move forward. Management will provide the skill sets required to ensure that when we put on our uniform, we are proud of being the people that consistently and safely ensure our clients always have ‘

PUMPING TO NEW HEIGHTS
MD Century approached Coates Hire Indonesia to support their project in Bojonegoro, Java. The initial request was for 2 pumps to deliver water for their drilling operations 6km away. Upon investigation by Coates Hire Indonesia, the solution was to propose one pump only with an 185m head capacity. The HL130 was considered a cost effective solution for Century.
Coates Hire Indonesia was also asked to supply personnel for security and operators, Coates Hire Indonesia chose to employ people from the local community. Management was fully supportive of the initiative, as it was aligned with our CSR policy and helped the local community with employment and training opportunities.
ALLIGHT PUMP HL 260
The HL260 is coming!
The new pump on the market for Allight Indonesia is the HL 260 and is scheduled to arrive Sept 2010. This pump is designed specifically for high head and high flow applications. Although this pump is new to the local market, it has come about after extensive research and field testing in the demanding American and European market.
Powered by a CAT C18 Engine, and with
a maximum head of 150m and flows up to 375L/sec,
the HL260 offers unsurpassed reliability, performance and value for money.

Over the last six months, Coates Hire Indonesia has been supporting Coates Offshore in the ASEAN region with technician and product support for th e Oil and Gas Industry. With several technicians fully trained and qualified in Steam Generators, Coates Hire Indonesia has been able to send personnel to Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore to support offshore projects for a variety of clients.
The overseas assignments have come about after extensive product training, which included the theoretical and practical training on equipment in Singapore and Malaysia. With the continual high demands for equipment in the region and specialized skills, Coates Hire Indonesia is seeing continual requests for support in the region, including UK, Australia, and Africa.
As the Coates Hire Indonesia President Director Russell Wood indicated “….as employers we have duty to ensure all of our personnel receive every opportunity for career development. PUMP TRAINING BY PT - ALLIGHT / GODWIN
Over the 26—30 July 2010, PT Allight again conducted the highly regarded Allight/Godwin pump training and maintenance course in Balikpapan for company employees and clients. The courses were conducted by OEM trainers from Godwin UK and Allight Australia. The Pump Theory 101 Course is designed to demostrate the theory and practical application calculations involved in siting and operating centrifugal pumps. A pump maintenance course was also conducted for service engineers on the latest repair and maintenance techniques for Godwin wetends.
This year was a first with the trainers sent “onsite” to conduct training at Thiess Sangatta. Not only did this assist the Thiess schedule with manning requirements, but the location provided the trainers with first hand understanding of remote locations and extreme pumping conditions within Indonesia.
In total there were 36 participants from
Madhani, Thiess, Leighton, and Petrosea.
The Coates Group has an annual award for those people who have shown outstanding contribution to the company. This year Indonesia was represented by PT Allight Finance Manager Mrs. Nining Ruminingtias. She was nominated for her excellence in balancing complex priorities and being the a key factor in PT Allight Indonesia’s success and growth. Her subtle guidance has ensured she is considered a valued part both the company and the local community .
All nominees travelled to Sydney, Australia for the week of the awards. All of the nominees spent the time together inspecting the Coates Australia Head Office in Sydney and some lucky people were able to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge for some stunning views of the city.
The other nominees were Rod Beveridge from Coates South, Craig Browman from Coates West, David Graham from Coates East, Sharon Hood from Coates North, Rod Gradner IT project Manager Corporate, Graham Brown Workshop Foreman from Coated Offshore. Rod Beveridge was the winner on the night. Well done Nining, you did us proud.

Since Opening on 2005, they have are grown rapidly with some real strides being made over the past few months. TRAINING PROGRAM
“Basic Supervisory Training”
Will be held in Oct 2010 at the Balikpapan Meeting Room at Stall Kuda. The training will include leadership, coaching and personnel development. Recommended for supervisor level. Dates will be advised by Human Resources Department.
“Maintenance Training”
Maintenance will be conducted at the Trakindo Office on Oct/Nov 2010.
Suitable for operations mechanics and electricians as an introduction to the CAT engine. Date will be advised by HR.

NEW COMPANY REGULATION FOR Coates Hire Indonesia AND Allight Indonesia
Effective May 2010—April 2012, the new company regulations have been launched for Coates Hire Indonesia and Allight Indonesia. The aim of these regulations is to ensure the rule of law for employee and management in employment or work situations. All the obligations and the rights of employee and employer are clearly stated in the book. The handbook of the new company regulations has been distributed to all Branches. If you have not received the book yet, please contact your Admin/Branch Manager. For Balikpapan area, please contact Fevi / Ade from Allight.
NEW HSE MANUAL BOOK
As an international company focused on Safety, The company is preparing to launch the new HSE Manual handbook for all employee and this will be distributed to all Branches by early Oct 2010.
